News From The Arts Center
Dear Friends,

Chris Marblo, President of The Arts Center of the Capital Region has announced that he will step down from his position in June to become the CEO of Education for the Diocese of Rockville Centre on Long Island, where he will be providing strategic direction for the educational and business operations of the 57 schools and 28,000 students in the Diocese.

Since Marblo joined The Arts Center in 2012, he has overseen the creation of new programs, including Creative Thinking; the expansion of summer camp offerings; the launch of the Emerging and Established Artist Awards; the creation of the Collar City Craft Festival; and the development of a marketing plan that has helped increase class tuition income by 34% and camp tuition income by 26% over the past two years. Marblo also serves on the steering committee for the Regional Alliance for the Creative Economy and on the board of the Tech Valley Nonprofit Business Council and is a founding member of the Troy Cultural Alliance.

The Arts Center is well positioned for this transition and the Board of Trustees will lead the search to find a new President. We expect an appointment to be made before Chris's departure, which will allow for a seamless transition in leadership.

Founded in 1962, The Arts Center of the Capital Region has 36,000 square feet of studio, exhibition, and performing arts space that serves 48,000 people a year from a ten county region. The Arts Center is known for its wide range of high-quality classes for adults and children, arts camps for children and teens, highly acclaimed exhibitions and performances, and funding and technical support for arts organizations and artists.

Please join me in thanking Chris for his leadership and wishing him well in his future role.

Sincerely,

Susan Radzyminski
Board Chair
