Proctors partners with Cirque Eloize for five-year run

Proctors and Cirque Eloize have signed a five-year agreement in which the contemporary circus troupe will perform for three weeks in August and offer summer camps for children and adults.
The Canadian-based theatre group highlights the circus arts with a mix of dance, acrobatics and aerials. It will perform its North American premier of its eighth original production, “Cirkolopis,” from Aug. 7-24 at the historic theatre in downtown Schenectady, NY.
Proctors will be Cirque Eloize’s summer home, and the troupe will become the main component of Proctors’ School of Performing Arts during August, said Philip Morris, CEO of Proctors.
Community leaders say the five-year agreement will have a $9 million impact on Proctors and businesses the immediate region.
